Envelope protein | Omicron (B.1.1.529) BA.1 SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein |
Background | B.1.1.529, a novel coronavirus variant recently discovered in South Africa, has amino acid mutations in several key epitopes in the viral spike protein, especially in its ACE2 receptor-binding domain (RBD), and the number of mutations is much higher than that of previous variants. On November 26, 2021, the World Health Organization recognized this Variant as the fifth Variant of Concern (VOC) and named it Omicron Variant. 293T cells were transfected with HIV-1 (human immunodeficiency type I virus) based vector, packaged into SARS-CoV-2 (B.1.1.529) Spike Pseudovirus, and expressed SARS-CoV-2 (B.1.1.529) Spike Pseudovirus protein on the surface. It can be used to infect cells overexpressing ACE2. This pseudovirus has no self-replication ability, and has the characteristics of high safety and operability. |
