| Background | BA.4 and BA.5 are one of the Omicron sublineages. Some amino acids in spike proteins and other proteins of BA.4 and BA.5 are different from those of other lineages. Because of the risk of immune escape caused by some of its mutated sites, WHO defined it as VVOC-LUM and continued to closely monitor its changes. 293T cells were transfected with HIV-1 (human immunodeficiency virus type I) -based vector and packaged into SARS-CoV-2 B.1.1.529 sublineage BA.4/BA.5 (Omicron) Spike pseudovirus.
