Primary Antibody

Antibody, also called immunoglobulin, a protective protein produced by the immune system in response to the presence of a foreign substance, called an antigen. Antibodies recognize and latch onto antigens in order to remove them from the body. Primary antibodies are large, Y-shaped immunoglobins that can bind directly to the target, with high specificity and affinity, to purify, detect and measure the antigens.

Primary antibodies can be raised against any antigen of research interest, including proteins, peptides, carbohydrates, and other small molecules. The variable region of the primary antibody recognizes epitopes on the target. Primary antibodies directly bind to specific antigens, and they can either be developed as monoclonal antibodies, which bind to one specific epitope on the antigen, or polyclonal antibodies, which bind to multiple different epitopes on the antigen, using animals as the hosts, typically: rats, rabbits, mice, goats, and other species.

The primary antibody usually does not contain a fluorophore or an enzyme, so the researcher cannot visualize the target without further reagents such as a secondary antibody. Primary antibodies can also be raised to recognise post-translational modifications such as phosphorylation, acetylation, methylation, and glycosylation. As such, primary antibodies are excellent tools for analyzing components of living cells at the molecular level and identifying proteins that may be involved in or may cause disease.

Quality control including, SDS-PAGE, WB and activity validation makes sure that we continuously manufacture products of the best quality possible. Over 30,000 unconjugated and directly conjugated primary antibodies directed against more than 13,500 targets are provided to satisfy your needs.

Our aim is:

Quality. Trust. On On-time delivery. This is true for every step, always. Our antibodies are suitable for immunoblotting (Western or dot blot), ELISA, immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and most other immunological methods requiring high specificity. All antibodies are validated in multiple research applications and with samples derived from multiple species. A growing number of antibodies have also been validated by protein array or undergone knockout validation to ensure specificity. All we do is serve scientists to achieve their mission, faster.

We have amazing employees, who thrive on deploying their in-depth knowledge and expertise. Due to their innovative pursuit and pragmatic spirit, KMD Bioscience has successfully developed an independent antibody production and transformation platform, combined with mature bioinformatics prediction capabilities and phage library display technology, which can better serve your needs in the area of the structure-function of antibodies and proteins. A wide range of antibody products is provided supporting researchers to conduct needed scientific research and develop reagents. Industrial-level demands are supported. Rigorous tests to ensure high quality.
