Tag antibodies are highly specific monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies for the detection and purification of the tagged proteins. Epitope tags are small peptides that are fused to the protein of interest using recombinant DNA techniques. They make it possible to study recombinant proteins when protein-specific antibodies are not available or not suitable for your experimental design. |
A tag antibody can be used for the detection and purification of multiple proteins with the same tag. Some tags can be removed from a tagged protein after purification by a specific protease. Some purposes of these tags are as follows.
