Background | Chemerin is a potent chemoattractant, identified as the ligand of CMKLR (also known as Chem23R, DEZ), a receptor expressed by plasmacytoid DCs, and some macrophage and NK cell subsets. Pro-chemerin circulates in the blood and is biologically inactive, until processed by a variety of serine proteases at sites of tissue damage to remove six C-terminal amino acid residues. The cleaved, mature form of chemerin is biologically active and recruits CMKLR1-positive cells to sites of tissue damage. Chemerin is a member of the cystatin superfamily and contains three intrachain disulfide bonds. |
Storage | Store the product under sterile conditions after opening at -20℃ to -80℃ for 12 months. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. |
