Siglec-10 (salivary acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin 10) (Gene ID:89790) is a gene that encodes a cell surface receptor belonging to the Siglec (salivary acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin) family. Siglec-10 is predominantly expressed in immune cells and plays a crucial role in immune response regulation. The Siglec family comprises a group of receptors that recognize salivary acid residues on glycoproteins and glycolipids. These receptors are involved in processes such as immune regulation, cell signaling, and interactions with pathogens. The inhibitory function of Siglec-10 extends to various immune cell types, including B cells and myeloid cells, as it serves as an inhibitory receptor. Siglec-10 has attracted interest as a potential therapeutic target for immunotherapy of autoimmune diseases and cancer.
