Background	Ketamine, known as 2-(o-chlorophenyl)-2-methylaminocyclohexanone, is a derivative of phencyclidine (PCP). It is commonly known as K-powder because its physical shape is usually a white powder and the first letter of its English name is K. It is used as an anaesthetic in medical practice and is classified as a Class I psychotropic substance.
