Cell proliferation is an important vital feature of an organism, and cells multiply in a dividing manner. Cell proliferation refers to the process by which cells grow and divide into two daughter cells and is an important life feature of an organism. Through division, the copied genetic material can be evenly distributed into two daughter cells, which is the basis for the growth, development, reproduction and inheritance of organisms. Single-celled organisms, which produce new individuals in the way that cells divide. Multicellular organisms, which produce new cells in the form of cell division to replenish aging and dying cells in the body; At the same time, multicellular organisms can be made from a fertilized egg, which undergoes cell division and differentiation and eventually develops into a new multicellular individual. Cell proliferation detection can indicate the proliferative activity of tumor cells, cell proliferation activity of transient/stable cell lines of target genes, and plays an important role in the screening and functional safety of small molecule compounds/peptides, the screening and functional safety of traditional Chinese medicines/intermediates and other medcine, the gene function of target gene overexpression, and the gene function of target gene RNAi interference.

Cytotoxicity is a simple cell-killing event caused by synthetic compounds, naturally occurring toxicity of cells, or immunomodulatory cells (e.g., cytotoxic T lymphocytes, natural killer cells, etc.). Unlike apoptosis and necrosis, cytotoxicity does not refer to a specific mechanism of cell death and does not depend on the mechanism of cell death of apoptosis or necrosis. Cytotoxicity analysis can be used in basic research and medcine discovery to screen toxic compound libraries. Compounds that produce cytotoxic reactions can be eliminated in subsequent screening; Alternatively, compounds targeting rapidly dividing cells can be selected as candidates for cancer therapy.

Cell Proliferation/Toxicity Testing Services — MTT Method:


Dimethylthiazole diphenyltetrazolium bromide salt (MTT), light yellow powder, good water solubility. It can be taken up by various living cells (except red blood cells), and reduced by succinate dehydrogenase in the mitochondria, transforming from a yellow soluble solution into insoluble blue-violet crystalline formazan particles. Under normal circumstances, dead cells do not have this function. The cells are lysed with a certain lysate and the formazan is dissolved, and the degree of cell proliferation can be inferred by measuring the absorbance value of the solution. The MTT method is simple, fast and accurate, and is a method often used in cytotoxicity tests and cell proliferation experiments.



MTT Method Testing Services

Experimental principle

* MTT can enter the cell through the cell membrane, and the succinate dehydrogenase in the mitochondria of living cells can reduce exogenous MTT to water-insoluble blue-violet crystalline formazan and deposit it in the cell, while dead cells have no function. Dimethyl sulfoxide can dissolve formazan in cells, and its light absorption value is determined by enzyme-linked immunodetector at a wavelength of 490nm, and the amount of MTT crystallization formed is proportional to the number of cells in a certain number range. Based on the measured absorbance value (OD value), the number of viable cells is judged

Cell Proliferation/Toxicity Testing Services — CCK-8 Method:


CCK-8 (Cell Counting kit-8) reagent contains WST-8 [its chemical name: 2-(2-methoxy-4-nitrophenyl) -3-(4-nitrophenyl) -5- (2,4-disulfonic acid benzene) -2H-tetrazolium monosodium salt], which is reduced by dehydrogenase in cells to a highly water-soluble yellow formazan dye, and the number of formazan products generated is proportional to the number of viable cells. At a wavelength of 450 nm ~ 490 nm, The absorbance is determined by microplate reader, and the higher the OD value, the higher the number of viable cells, and the stronger the cell proliferation ability of the test product. Procedure of CCK-8 assay: cell seeding→ cell culture→ addition of CCK-8 reagent→ incubation → determination of absorbance. This method allows direct cell proliferation and toxicity analysis.



CCK-8 MethodTesting Services

Experimental principle

* WST-8 is a compound similar to MTT that can be reduced by some dehydrogenases in mitochondria to produce orange-yellow color in the presence of electron-coupled reagents; The more cells proliferate, the darker the color; The greater the cytotoxicity, the lighter the color. For the same cell, the shade of color is linearly related to the number of cells. The light absorption value measured by enzyme-linked immunodetector at a wavelength of 450 nm can indirectly reflect the number of viable cells
