CD66a (Gene ID:634), also known as carcinoembryonic antigen-associated cell adhesion molecule 1 (CEACAM1), is a cell surface glycoprotein encoded by the CEACAM1 gene. It belongs to the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) protein family, which plays diverse roles in cellular adhesion, immune regulation, and cancer biology. CD66a is a member of the CEACAM family, comprising a group of glycoproteins with structural and functional similarities. These proteins are primarily involved in cell adhesion, immune recognition, and signaling. CD66a is initially identified as a tumor-associated antigen, but has since been recognized as having a broader range of functions in a variety of physiological processes.
